How far (and often) have you travelled?
Quarterly Supporter Updates:
A look at how membership and donation support is helping the Contemporary Art Gallery impact our wider community
What an overwhelming response from Vancouver’s community! Your membership and appeal donations directly support public art projects such as How far do you travel? and with social media lighting up, we wanted to share some delightful thoughts from observers who may be enjoying it the most—your bus drivers.
“I put the bus in revenue service for the first time after being released to the media. The customers loved it when I told them they were on the first art bus that’s been released to the public; they clapped and cheered. I was also met with bus enthusiasts on the way who wanted to see the bus and take pictures of it.” – S.S.
“Customers loved the bus and were very impressed by the art. They said all buses should showcase cool artwork because they look so much more inviting. The art also makes the buses have better visibility and you can spot them from a mile away. As an operator driving the bus, I loved it too because I thought it was very cool and it also put the customers in a great mood.” – H.J.
When you travel by wrapped bus, don’t forget to take a photo (with yourself in it if you can!) and tag #CAGVancouver and #howfardoyoutravel. If you haven’t had the chance yet, attend one of our forthcoming public programs on the buses themselves – checking our events page for details.
