Publication Review | Ryan Gander: Culturefield
CAG library volunteer Lanna Last provides a short review of the 2015 publication, Ryan Gander: Culturefield
This softcover volume, like a bound stack of glossy magazines, is a foray into the artistic work and practice of Ryan Gander. The publication surveys Gander’s career of conceptual gestures such as an invented word, a television script and a children’s book. High quality coloured photographs capture Gander’s consistent vision of unraveling historical narratives within the cultural sphere. Essays and comments by Aileen Burns, Johan Lundh and Rebecca Martston, exploring Gander’s multifaceted art piece, interpret his sculptures, photographs, paintings and media installations. At the end of this publication we find Gander’s words in an essay (with French translation).
