With very little, Ceal Floyer's (b.1968, Karachi, Pakistan) work speaks clearly and memorably, addressing complex ideas with simple gestures, negating the boundaries between form and concept. Floyer lives and works in Berlin. She holds a BA from Goldsmiths College, London, and in 1997 was awarded Philip Morris scholarship, Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin. She is represented by 303 Gallery and Lisson Gallery, and her work has been shown in numerous cities internationally, including her most recent solo exhibition at KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin (2009). She has exhibited widely at Ingleby Gallery, Edinburgh; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Centre d'Art Santa Monica, Barcelona; Rochester Art Center, New York; the Power Plant, Toronto (2006); and the Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver (2005).
