Rhonda Weppler & Trevor Mahovsky

Rhonda Weppler (b.1972, Winnipeg) and Trevor Mahovsky (b. 1969, Calgary) both received their MFAs from the University of British Columbia in 1998. They have been working together since 2003. Their early sculpture used basic formal geometric shapes, simple materials and minimal colours to represent ordinary objects. They continue to portray commonplace objects, but using more organic forms and jumbling a combination of objects together instead of stacking them neatly. Their collaborative work has been exhibited at the Saidye Bronfman Centre for the Arts, Montréal (2006); the Southern Alberta Art Gallery in Lethbridge (2006); and the Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver. They are currently based in Vancouver and are represented by the Pari Nadimi Gallery, Toronto.
