Henrik Håkansson

Henrik Håkansson was born in Helsingborg, Sweden in 1968. He currently lives and works in Berlin and Ullared, Sweden. From 1989 to 1993 he studied at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. Since the early 1990s he has participated in exhibitions worldwide including his most recent exhibitions at KETTLE'S YARD, Cambridge in 2007, and Palais de Tokyo, Paris in 2006. He will be exhibiting at Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City in 2008. Håkansson has also participated in the 8th Sharjah Biennial and in the 50th International Venice Biennale. IASPIS recently published Henrik Håkansson in dialogue with Will Bradley, as part of their series presenting Swedish artists in dialogue with a writer. Through the Woods to Find the Forest was published by Palais de Tokyo with a text by Francesco Manacorda. An Introduction to the Birds published by De Appel Foundation Amsterdam included contributions by Joerg Jeiser and Annelie Pohlen and accompanied his exhibition at Villa Merkel, Esslingen, Germany in 2004. Henrik Håkansson is represented by Franco Noero, Turin and The Modern Institute, Glasgow.
