Mark Leckey (England, b. 1964) is an artist and musician based in London and Frankfurt. Leckey is well-known for his video Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore (1999) that presents a history of popular dance culture through found footage. His Soundsystem sculptures (2002-04) reference the history of Jamaican sound system events. Leckey uses these sculptures to play a soundtrack describing his walk from his favourite pub to his apartment and as performance platforms where he plays recordings of 18th century pipe organ music.
