Ian Grais studied Economics at the University of British Columbia and Advertising at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, USA. From 1997 to 2001, Grais was ranked the number one art director in Canada. In 1999, he co-founded Rethink, a Vancouver advertising agency priding themselves on their various creative endeavors. The agency works with local companies, as well as clients in Toronto, Montreal and the US. In 2004, Rethink was an award winner in Canada’s Visual Communications Magazine for best in Advertising/Print for their involvement in the Button Wall, an interactive promotional installation for the Contemporary Art Gallery. As Partner & Co-Creative Director of Rethink, Ian Grais often delves into areas well beyond the scope of traditional advertising, such as contemporary art and sustains his art practice principally through drawing.
