Lawrence Weiner

Lawrence Weiner is an internationally recognized artist historically defined as one of the founders of conceptual art. Weiner’s work includes sculptures, books, posters, films, installations, audio works, etc., all concerning linguistic structures and visual systems. Locally, his work was recently on exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery as part of 75 Years of Collecting: British Masters, Group of Seven and Pop Icons (2006). Current solo exhibitions include Concept, Body and Dream at Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Torino, Italy, and All the above at Galerie Micheline Szwajcer, Antwerp, Belgium.
