Filipa César lives and works in both Lisbon and Berlin. She studied at Oporto University and obtained her MFA in painting from Lisbon University (1999). Since her involvement in Manifesta (2002) and the Istanbul Biennale (2003), interest in her work on an international level has heightened dramatically. César has had several solo exhibitions throughout Europe and has exhibited in North America in both Miami and San Francisco. Her work is generally in the form of video or new media installations.
