Hadley+Maxwell

Hadley+Maxwell have collaborated and exhibited their work in Canada, the United States and abroad since 1998. Their work builds a tension between politics and aesthetics, reflecting on issues of taste, and processes of production and consumption. In 2005 they were recipients of the esteemed VIVA award. Their work was the subject of solo exhibitions: Deleted Scenes, at the Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver, 2006; 1+1-1, Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, 2007; The Lemonade is Weak Like Your Soul, Kunstverein Göttingen, 2009, and Improperties at SMART Projects, Amsterdam, 2010. They have recently exhibited in group exhibitions at the Power Plant, Toronto and the National Gallery of Canada. They are represented by Jessica Bradley Art + Projects, Toronto where they have an upcoming solo exhibition.
